1. Where are you based?

I am based in Hout Bay, Cape Town.

2. Do you offer delivery?

Local orders from within Cape Town are collection only from Hout Bay. However, if you are ordering from another country or city, I will deliver to within 15kms of Hout Bay to the areas specified in (4) below for a flat fee of R150. Larger events and weddings, with a venue outside Cape Town are subject to quotation for delivery. Due to the delicate nature of the cupcakes, I do not use a courier service so delivery to Johannesburg or other cities is sadly, not possible.

3. How far in advance should I order?

It is recommended that you order as far in advance as possible to secure a preferred collection date. Lead time is approximately two months. I regularly publish current availability on both Facebook & Instagram (@crumbscustomcupcakes). Please note that no order is confirmed until an invoice has been issued and paid in full.

4. Collection and delivery

Collections are from Hout Bay Monday-Friday only. All orders are ready at 16:00, so if you require cupcakes for an earlier time in the day, please place your order for the day before. Cakes are at optimum freshness for up to 3 days from collection, so that should not be a concern when collecting cakes for a weekend function. For orders placed from other countries or cities outside Cape Town, I offer delivery to the following areas in Cape Town ONLY: Constantia, Claremont, Wynberg, Rondebosch within the M3 border,  Atlantic Seaboard and CBD only.

5. How do I order?

You will find the current selection of floral bouquets here.  Click on the bouquet of your choice, complete the order request form in full and I will get back to you as soon as I can to confirm availability or discuss your order. If you can’t decide, you may choose to order “Katie’s Choice” by giving me a colour scheme and I will create a bespoke bouquet with designs of my choice.

6. What are your working hours?

I am available on whatsapp on 076 314 6142 Monday-Friday between 08:00-16:00. Outside of these hours, feel free to email me at hello@crumbscupcakes.co.za anytime! Messages received on a Friday will be attended to the following Monday. I endeavour to respond within 48hrs, however, during busier times may not be possible. Please be assured that I will respond.

7. What flavour sponge do you offer?

We offer only vanilla or chocolate sponge (we use only vanilla extract, locally sourced organic eggs and 100% butter in all our recipes).

We offer gluten free cupcakes (both chocolate and vanilla sponge) at a small extra charge of R30 per 12 cupcakes. Please note, our ingredients are stored in separate spaces and whilst all effort is made to avoid cross-contamination, we cannot be held responsible for medical allergies not declared at time of purchase (please refer to our Terms of Service for full disclaimer).

8. How long do cupcakes last?

Generally your cupcakes will remain at optimum freshness for up to 3 days from day of collection/delivery at room temperature, as long as they are stored correctly in a covered container. Do not refrigerate cakes as they will go stale.

9. Do you offer discounts on large orders?

No discounts on any of our bouquets will be offered. Each and every bouquet is created with the same attention to detail and takes the same amount of time, no matter how many I am doing. Please do not ask me for a discount.

10. How do I pay?

Currently, payment for bouquets is by EFT only. Your order is only confirmed once full payment has been made. All orders must be paid for in full on presentation of invoice to guarantee an order date. Should payment not be received within 72hrs of date of invoice, your order will automatically be cancelled.

For tutorials and recipes, payment is by credit card via our secure encrypted gateway, Stripe.

11. What happens if I have to cancel my order?

We understand that events get cancelled, due to a myriad of reasons. There is a considerable amount of preparation and work that goes into your order in advance of the required date. Many of our buttercream flowers are prepared and stored in advance. If you cancel your order 30 days or more before delivery, you will get a full refund, between 7-14 days you will receive 50% refund on payment received. Less than 7 days in advance, no refund will be offered. Please refer to our Terms of Service for details.
